Year 10 and 11 students visit Snowdonia on Geography Trip

Tuesday 6th November 2018

Using the opportunity to take Geography out of the classroom and into the real world, forty-six Year 10 and 11 students from Rockwood Academy travelled to north-western Wales mountainous region Snowdonia for the weekend between Friday 26th October and Sunday 28th October.

Working through the cold weather, the students spent much of their time in Snowdonia outdoors completing fieldwork activities, which form an important component of their GCSE course. The hands-on experience allowed the students to enrich their learning, creating opportunities for animated discussions around the fieldwork they were undertaking, and the results received.

The students represented Rockwood Academy with impeccable behaviour, promoting our CORE values of collaboration, opportunity, respect, and excellence throughout the experience.
